In 1980, a passion to reach the community for the cause of Christ and to bring the Gospel to people held captive by drugs and alcohol led to the formation of an outreach in the Fresno County area of California. This vision brought Howard and Barbara Ham to realize the need of men and women suffering bondage to life threatening addictions.

In 1990, the first home was put into place that would give opportunity to men who wanted to change their life style and learn a new trade. Cross Training Ministries was born.
 

To reach out to men with life controlling addictions and their families.
 

Equip, motivate, and encourage pastors, businessmen, and laypeople for ministry in changing men’s lives caught in addictions.


 

To train leaders in ministry.

• Provide teaching and classes in Biblical studies.

• Provide fellowship & support between churches and other ministries.

• Raise funds to expand & sustain Cross Training centers.

• Open new centers.

• Recruit future workers and leaders.

• Facilitate movement to stop amoral activities.

• Organize evangelism outreach.

• Prepare men for reentry.

Change begins with Choice
 
Any day you want, you can change. We can discipline ourselves to bring about important changes in our behavior. We can read a book that will open our mind. Any day, we can do something new. Any day we wish...or next week...or next year or right now we can choose.

We can pretend everything is all right and stay as we are, or we can admit our problem, take action and change who we are. We can choose to do the right thing just because it is the right thing to do. We will make a choice. As Shakespeare said, “THE FAULT IS NOT IN THE STARS, BUT IN OURSELVES.”
 
We have the ability as well as the responsibility to choose the best for ourselves. We cannot allow our judgments to continue to cause us to end badly. We must allow new thought and action to bring us to a place of peace, joy, and love.
